Plainwork is an async decision operating system for engineering teams working in hybrid environments.
Most engineering teams don’t suffer from “too many meetings”. They suffer from unclear decisions. When decision ownership is fuzzy, deadlines are implicit, and outcomes aren’t documented, teams compensate by scheduling more meetings.Hybrid work amplifies this pattern.Plainwork exists to break it.
The system is delivered as a hosted Notion workspace and governance framework.
A structured way to replace meetings with async decisions.
A shared standard managers can enforce consistently.
Developed by an engineer researching hybrid decision-making in technical teams.
Not a meeting productivity tool.
Not a note-taking app.
Not an AI meeting assistant.
Not consulting or facilitation.
Start with a 30-day paid pilot (€750).Replace one recurring meeting with the system and track resulting actions. The pilot works like this:1. Identify one recurring meeting
2. Replace it with a Decision Memo
3. Gather input asynchronously
4. Log the decision and track actionsThe pilot fee is credited toward the annual license.
Licenses are annual and cover use as an organizational standard and ongoing access to the system.
One meeting often pays for the system.Example:6 engineers
1 hour weekly meeting
≈ €2,000–€5,000 monthly cost in engineering time.Replacing one meeting often exceeds the annual Plainwork license.
